Unfortunately, our town's festive garlands along George Street didn't quite make it to Christmas Day. They were taken down by the District Council and, although we haven't officially been told, we understand from a conversation with a Council employee that it was because there was insufficient clearance above the road and that the banner poles were under stress and there was a risk of them breaking.
Its another disappointing outcome after having to cancel the Moonta Christmas Pageant and Carols in Queen Square owing to the weather.
