The official word through the Kernewek Lowender Commitee from the Cornish Pasty Association in Cornwall is that the naming rights for the Cornish Pasty cannot be inforced in Australia.
Its great news for the Town and District and its a big relief for the Kernewek Lowender Organisers and the local businesses which produce the famous pasty.
“After much confusion and a week of debating a new name we are all relieved with the news that we can continue to call our pasties a Cornish Pasty and are now getting ready to sell thousands of the Cornish pasties to Festival visitors in May” said Mrs Ayles, Kernewek Lowender’s Executive Officer.
“As a result of this hot topic we are now expecting the Cornish Pasty Workshops to be sell outevents. The workshops provide participants with the opportunity to learn the traditional Cornish pasty recipe and how to crimp the pastry.
Any one wishing to purchase a ticket to attend a Cornish Pasty Workshop or receive a copy ofthe full program for the Festival which is held May 10th to 15th, can contact the Kernewek Lowender Office via the Copper Coast Visitor Information Centre, 50 Moonta Road, Kadina.Phone 08 8821 4500, email info@kernewek.org or visit www.kernewek.org
