The symbolic re-enactment of Horns epic ride on horseback to Adelaide to file the claim for the Moonta Mine has been awarded the District Council of the Copper Coast's Community Event Award for 2010.
Horns ride was re-enacted by the NYP Pony Club with riders from various other Yorke Peninsula towns in June as part of Moonta and the Copper Coast's sesquicentenary celebrations of the discovery of copper.
The event was proudly sponsored by the Moonta & District Progress Association in partnership with the Royal Hotel Social Club and the Moonta Branch of the National Trust.
Congratulations to event organisers; Graham Sobey, the 150 Years of Copper Committee and, in particular, the Pony Club riders and their support teams who made this special event possible.
