The Symbolic Re-enactment of Horn's Ride takes centre stage at Bonython Hall on North Terrace Adelaide after a highly successful and memorable three day ride from Moonta.
Riders of the Central Zone Pony Club were officially welcomed by the Lord Mayor of Adelaide and presented with silver medallions to commemorate the occasion and their personal achievement.
After the speeches and formal handing over of the ceremonial scroll by Mayor Thomas to Mayor Harbison, the public gathering was invited into Bonython Hall for morning tea and cornish pasties.
Congratulations to the riders, their support group and event organisers. We also thank Mayor Paul Thomas for his coordinating role and the University of Adelaide, the Mayor of Adelaide's Office, SAPOL, Keith Conlon and Prices Bakery for their excellent support in helping make the Adelaide end of the event a resounding success.
Of course the event would not have been possible without the generous sponsorship of the Royal Hotel Social Club and National Trust Moonta Branch, the support of medallion supplier Rewards International, and the special contribution by chief organiser and spokesperson, Graham Sobey. Thank you all.
