The Broadband for Seniors Kiosk is an initiative of the Australian Government and NEC to provide free basic computer and internet access training to Senior members of the community. In return for providing tutors, training and office space, the Moonta Progress Association and Moonta Community Shed benefits from having free Broadband Access for 18 months and keeping the two computers, two tables and three chairs provided as part of the Kiosk package.
We have made a modest but positive start over the past few weeks and already volunteer tutor and facilitator, Pamela Kerr, has assisted a number of Senior trainees and most are keen to continue on with further lessons. Sessions are up to an hour's duration and can either be structured or tailored to suit the needs of the individual. If you are interested in tutoring please contact Pamela on 88251378.
