Moonta's Russell Sobey Wins Australia Day Young Citizen Award

Russell Sobey is a most worthy recipient of the Copper Coast Australia Day Young Citizen of the Year Award for 2010 for his contribution to the Moonta & District Community.

Russell has contributed thousands of hours of volunteer work to the local community. He has been instrumental in designing and maintaining the Moonta & District Progress Association and Moonta School's website, giving public performances and providing technical support for range of high profile community events, developing a web based automatic ticketing system for the 150 Years of Copper celebrations, developing an innovative light and sound show and providing voiceovers of Cornish Miners for the Wheal Hughes Mine and co-producing a quality tourism promotion video for the Moonta National Trust.

Russell graduated from university with a degree in Multimedia Studies and now has his own business Sobey Multimedia, specialising in web design, video and multimedia services.
