A good crowd gathered to enjoy Moonta's 12th Xmas Pageant and many moved on to Queen Square to celebrate the Season with a night of entertainment and carol singing.
There were many highlights with some old favourites and traditional themes, lots of colourful costumes and some exciting surprises like the Fantasy Castle, designed by Julie "ArtyCat " and built with the support of Moonta Community Shed members Harry and Don, a new Fairy float, built by Etta and John for their grandchildren and the popular Wang Wang and Funi float with compliments of Foot Comfort Shoes and R M Williams.
We wish to thank Major Sponsor Kevin Stock and Moonta Engineering and Triad transport for his generous sponsorship and the other local business sponsors for their support. Thanks also to Copper City Haulage for again making their Semi Trailer available as a stage for the Carols Night.
The following submitted article in the YP Country Times really summed it up.
Congratulations to all concerned with the annual Christmas Pageant in Moonta. For such a small town, it was a wonderful parade.
The many hours of work behind the scenes by teams of volunteers speaks volumes. It is the embodiment of community spirit and goodwill, and is the heartbeat of the town.
