Organisers were pleased with visitor numbers over Moonta's Antiques & Collectables Weekend. Despite the hot weather, all venues recorded good sales and good returns for their fundraising efforts.
The success of the event was particularly satisfying considering its near demise and 11th hour resurrection during the year. Already dealers and organisers are talking of re-including the School gymnasium next year and expanding its program which augers well for the future of this prestigious and popular event. There is also talk of changing the dates to co-incide with the staging of the Opera in the Mines "I Pagliacci" at the Moonta Mines Museum as part of next year's 150 Years of Copper celebrations.
Congratulations to the Committee and thanks to the Dealers for their encouragement and support and a special thank you to the volunteers who manned the doors and helped with the setting up etc.
