Moonta Traders received a well deserved message of congratulations though our website for the weekend service they are providing to tourists and visitors to the town. The positive feedback echoes the general observations and feeling in the town and the high business confidence bought about by the actions of some local traders, several community events and a significant and sustained increase in visitor numbers over recent months.

Congratulations to the traders open on the weekends at Moonta - we found heaps of shops still open late morning last Saturday and the drive back to Wallaroo immediately after to see all shops in the main street closed. While in amazement at this with the marina being developed all the time, it's great news for Moonta traders. We witnessed a large group of people wandering the street looking in the closed shop windows and I wished now I'd stuck my head out the car window and directed them a few kms down the road to Moonta to where something was happening! The Moonta streets and township are always clean and well presented and always see people wandering and browsing the main streets of Moonta, while Kadina and Wallaroo are closed. Well done traders. Our trip home to see my family isn't complete for my hubby without a drive to Moonta to fossic in the 2nd hand store and to enjoy a freshly baked delight from The Cornish Kitchen. We were very impressed with the homewares / kitchen shop and we'll be back to spend more. We're making another trip to stay with family in a few weeks and taking another couple with us (we bragged so much about Moonta). We'll eat and drink in Wallaroo but shop in Moonta and I'm sure spend a large part of our days and money there. So well done, Moonta, it's always been a delight to visit and spend money and we always return to Adelaide with something to talk about.Cheers,
