A large crowd gathered at Moonta on Sunday to enjoy the popular Moonta Xmas Pageant and welcome Santa to town.
There were fairies and elves a plenty along with hula girls, digger the wombat, cranky old teachers, red hatters, mad hatters and a famous Dame. Yes, Moonta was on show again with a record number of community groups participating and some 38 highly decorated and imaginative floats to enjoy.
Santa in his reindeer sleigh arrived on cue and was swamped by the children as he made his way to Santa's Cottege in Queen Square.
Many stayed on to sample the fine selection of foods and take in the entertainment on the Big Rig stage in the lead up to a night of Carol singing.
Once again, our special thanks to our generous Major Pageant Sponsor Kevin Stock and Moonta Engineering and Triad Transport and thanks also to Grant Davey and Copper City Haulage, the entertainers, the community clubs who participated and the volunteers who put in many hours to bring the Moonta Xmas Pageant and Carols in the Square alive for everyone to enjoy.
