The Northern Yorke Peninsula Quilters Group meet weekly on a Wednesday in the Moonta Town Hall Supper Room. There is also a group affiliated with this that meets on a Monday night once a month in the Community Library.
The group actively supports the local community, The Women’s and Children’s Hospital and people in crisis by making quilts of differing themes.
Recent projects include:
Exhibition held during the Kernewek Lowender celebrations.
Members made a quilt and donated it to “Star of the Sea” Home for the Aged at Wallaroo.
Donated a quilt to be raffled for the Moonta participants in the Mighty River Run held for Novita Services
On-going quilts for Rose Ward at Women’s and Children’s Hospital
Quilts have been given to local Anglicare, Uniting Wesley and St Vincent De Paul
We hold various workshops throughout the year to learn new skills and techniques
Fundraising for our new meeting place at the Wallaroo Institute is a focus this year as we need all items of furniture to be an established and active presence.
New members are always welcome.
