2010 marks the 150th anniversary of the discovery of copper in the Copper Triangle. Many of the original miners immigrated from Cornwall and Wales. These people celebrated life through music, especially singing. To honour their legacy the community has determined that three major events take place during the Sesquicentennial which capture the spirit of its people. The largest event planned is an open-air performance of the opera I Pagliacci at the Moonta Mines Museum, which will be staged to reflect life as it was in the Copper Triangle some 100 years ago.
A pre-show Gormet Smorgasbord will be available at 6.30pm.
